The Battery Engineer position involves overseeing, implementing, and effectively accomplishing projects related to battery development, evaluation, optimization, operational validation, and cost reduction projects across the business for Ascentek. As a team member, this person will play a vital role in implementing and enhancing various aspects of battery design, including processes, testing, innovation, manufacturing, bill of materials, and specification systems, to ensure the successful introduction of assigned projects to the market. Additionally, this position will collaborate with suppliers, Supply Chain, and BU functions in manufacturing packages that meet customer and consumer expectations and are optimized to our operational capacities.
- Develop and execute technology roadmap and strategy for energy storage technologies in partnership with our business unit.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge battery and energy storage technologies.
- Serve as the global SME for battery and energy storage.
- Lead development, testing, and integration of advanced battery and energy storage technologies into business product portfolios.
- Design and modify BMS systems to fit specific customer and market needs
- Drive innovation in materials, chemistries, and architectures for energy storage solutions.
- Develop and oversee design, prototyping, testing, and validation of battery and energy storage systems and components.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external entities.
- Influence technical direction through collaboration with cross-functional teams, external associations and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of milestones while providing effective status communications.
- Lead the evaluation of new and innovative technologies, either as disruptive competition or prospective new products or services for the company. Drive proof-of-concept testing and feasibility assessment for new battery and energy storage technologies and application areas.
- Travel internationally/domestically as needed.

Education:
Experience and/or Training:
- 5+ years battery design and engineering experience. Creativity and excellent skills in written and verbal communication required.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications

This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
