Serve as the lead in creating and implementing a robust social media plan for the department that promotes the mission, goals and values of the Athletics department and University, including graphic design, photography, and video design assets via a multilayered approach. Promote and publicize sports information to local and national media, including television, radio, print, and electronic outlets. Compile game statistics (during games matches) and game highlights and distributing to visiting teams and newspapers, radio, TV, NYU website, and sport organizations (e.g., NCAA, UAA and individual sport organizations).



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience with sports information, athletic communication, graphic design, videography, and livestream broadcast athletic events

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Experience in public relations and previous experience in a higher education institution is preferred. Experience with college athletics is highly desired.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, handle multiple priorities and successfully meet deadlines. Working knowledge of video editing, video camera and DSLR cameras, social media modems. Adobe PageMaker, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, HTML, Canva and DreamWeaver. Experience with various multimedia platforms required. Proficiency across statistical platforms, including in-game software such as StatCrew and Genius Live Stats, is essential, as is advance planning for execution of game-day communication operations in coordination with student and professional staffing. Expertise in the creation of graphic, photography, and video design assets via a multilayered approach. Design and operational proficiency for all in-arena graphic packaging for all digital boards across athletic facilities. An up to date knowledge of social channel trends across the collegiate landscape and maintaining a competitive approach to keeping the department channels competitive with its peers is essential. Reduction of live-stream broadcasts of home varsity sporting events.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
