Position Summary

The Digital Communication Specialist will be responsible for the preparation, development, and distribution of internal communications at NYU. This position will maintain proficiency with all of the current communication services provided by NYU in order to recommend, implement, and produce the best solutions for executive-level communications and digital projects. The position will design and generate materials as needed, including, but not limited to, building web pages within a content management system (CMS), producing and supporting optimization within bulk email platform editor, and delivering mobile push notifications. This position will also monitor and manage analytics for NYU's central website, including implementing event tracking tags and remarketing pixels.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, design, information technology, or other related field.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years of relevant experience in developing communication deployment plans, including at least 1 year of experience editing in CMS. At least 1 year of managing and reporting website analytics using Google Analytics GA4 and Google Tag Manager. Broad experience in web, email, social, and mobile communications, their format, management, and creation/development.

Preferred Experience:
Professional experience serving as a digital content producer. Professional experience writing for the web, email, and/or mobile devices. Professional experience in higher education and/or non-profit settings.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and an ability to deliver high-quality results with minimal instruction and a short turn-around time. Consistent attention to detail. Adaptable, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Capacity to periodically real-time collaborate off-hours with colleagues around the globe via conference calls or web conferencing platforms. Proficiency in using a web content management system, and other web-based applications/tools in both an end-user and administrator capacity. Must be familiar with WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards for creating accessible, digital content. Knowledge of image optimization and analytic reporting tools. Ability to tie desired outcomes to strategies and to use assessment tools and methods to prove results.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic HTML, Javascript and light regular expressions a plus. Image editing within Photoshop or similar tools.



Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $81,580.91. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
