The Opportunity

Skadden is seeking a dynamic and proactive Innovation Coordinator to join our Innovation & Emerging Technology team. This position will provide essential support to the Global Manager of Innovation and Innovation & Emerging Technology Strategists, playing a critical role in advancing the firm's innovation initiatives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering a culture of innovation and will contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions that enhance our legal services. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Administrative Excellence:

  • Act as the central point of contact for the Innovation & Emerging Technology team's administrative needs.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, workshops, and collaborative sessions to facilitate innovation efforts.
  • Manage calendars, schedules, and communication channels, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, project plans, checklists, and action items, aiding in the tracking of project progress and deliverables.
  • Manage, organize, update, and analyze project plans, feedback, usage data and information, and other quantitative and qualitative metrics.

Collateral Development and Management:

  • Create and refine collateral materials, such as presentations, reports, and documentation, partnering with the Global Technology Communications and Technology Learning and Development teams, as appropriate.
  • Work closely with team members to collect content and insights, ensuring that all materials accurately reflect ongoing innovation initiatives.
  • Uphold branding, messaging, and quality standards across all innovation-related collateral.
  • Maintain an organized repository of documents and resources, providing the team with quick and easy access to essential information.

Strategic Collaboration:

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the Innovation & Emerging Technology team and with other relevant departments.
  • Support the Global Manager of Innovation in coordinating cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to promote information sharing and to drive the firm's innovation agenda forward.

Project Support and Engagement:

  • Assist in the preparation of materials for internal and external stakeholders, showcasing the firm's innovation efforts.
  • Take on special projects and initiatives as directed by the Global Manager of Innovation, demonstrating an owner's mindset and commitment to successful outcomes.
  • Ensure the timely and effective completion of projects, coordinating input from various departments and stakeholders as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree, along with 2 years of experience in a professional services environment.
  • The ability to work independently and lead complex projects is essential. We seek individuals who are self-starters, can take initiative, and excel in a fast-paced setting.
  • Prior experience in project coordination or administration is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills are required, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other collaboration tools is necessary. Experience with creative communications tools is strongly preferred.
  • A familiarity with innovation processes, methodologies, and technologies will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages Firm resources responsibly.
  • Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

$80,000 - $90,000
