Description
The Graphics Project Manager will act as an information focal point for graphics/design related deliverables. This information will be organized and documented for the purpose of inserting work into the regional production hub to fulfill the graphics requirements of various exhibits, tradeshows, and events. The success of the position involves managing/coordinating graphics orders into the regional production hub in accordance with prescribed capacity plan timelines, budget, and quality parameters. The position is responsible for coordinating all facets of graphic signage manufacturing/production for assigned projects (tradeshows, exhibits, etc.). Ultimately responsible for ensuring that assigned resources deliver on all required/ordered signage for events. Responsibilities are diverse in nature requiring initiative and judgment in determining appropriate project solutions. Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities to production team
- Directly responsible for pulling work orders from CORE, detailing, entering and distributing as necessary
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
- Create, manage and execute deliverables
- Effectively apply organization methodologies and enforce project standards
- Schedule and manage project reviews and quality assurance procedures
- Manage and communicate all risk associated to project
- Attends meetings to ensure there is follow up in action items and effective planning
- Create, manage and communicate necessary project documents
- Track and manage project costs, purchases and expenses on a project basis
- Manage project budget
- Track and manage invoicing and monitor receivables for project
- Manage vendors regarding deliverables and invoicing
- Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins and bill rates
- Act as project partner with Client Services Manager, Sr. Graphics Consultant, Graphics Production, Layout and ancillary vendors with regard to all services and build working relationships with all
- Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the team leader
- Manage and maintain quality standards for in-coming and in-process projects and components for finished goods
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in Graphics Design and Production required
- 2 years experience in Project Management and/or Production Management
- Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proven experience in managing large projects with direct client access from inception to project closeout
- Self-starter with independent decision making abilities
- Must be extremely detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer and intercompany relationship skills
- Excellent follow-up methodology
- 2 years experience in retail Graphics Design and Production required
- College Degree preferred
- Graphics software application knowledge a plus: Adobe Packages (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
- Graphics equipment experience a plus: Inkjet printers, Flatbed Printers, Roll to Roll Printers, laminating and cutting equipment
Work Environment:
- Position may require some travel
- Nights, weekends and show site work may be necessary in peak business season
- Position averages 40-50 hours per week, several months of the year (may vary based on show schedule). Requires the ability to adapt to multiple settings and shifting responsibilities
- Work is performed mostly in office conditions, involving sitting some of the time, with some work being performed in a show site environment
- Work may involve repetitive motion (i.e. constant keying, using fingers, or grasping of objects)
- Work is performed in a somewhat crowded or noisy area where there may be mild discomfort due to temperature, dust or other conditions
- Work involves occasional exertion of physical effort (i.e. periods of standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting).
