The Position Job TitleHR Business Relations Specialist Job Description

SUMMARY

The HR Business Relations Specialist position is responsible for providing superior service to internal customers and the HR department by providing administrative support on a variety of HR related duties.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

1. Possesses a strong connection to the values of First United Bank. Demonstrates values daily and holds others to the same standards.

  • Promotes teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration.
  • Displays a positive attitude toward the bank, employees, and policy and procedures.
  • Acts with a strong sense of integrity in all situations.
  • Creates an atmosphere of trust and support.

2. Compelled to serve others and satisfy internal customer needs.

  • Manages the HR group email account and ensures established Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Delivers first line of support to all internal customers, which involves answering questions and concerns.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and emails.
  • Assists hiring managers in posting and editing job requisitions.
  • Prepares written correspondence from HR department.

3. Ensures operating policies and procedures (compliance requirements, audit requirements, etc.) are met - sets a high standard of integrity and possess a strong sense of ownership.

  • Maintains accurate data in Workday by processing all employee changes - terminations, promotions, salary changes, etc.
  • Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Processes employment verifications for current and former employees.
  • Complies with all bank policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to employment law.

4. Partners closely with HR Business Relations Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Business Leaders to facilitate a smooth pre-hire process for candidates.

5. Supports HR Leadership Team with various projects and day-to-day tasks as needed.

6. Participates in HR departmental goals, objectives, and projects to ensure an effective, sustainable, people strategy over the long-term.

7. Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handles confidential and non-routine information.
  • Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.
  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Two or more years of HR or Customer Service experience preferred.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality guidelines. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and strong attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to communicate well by all means of communication including written, verbal, and non-verbal communication.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong initiative and follow-through on projects and deliverables.
  • Able and willing to continue business skills and human resources development.
