BigBear.ai is seeking a Data Analyst in the National Capital Region (Greater DC Metro Area) to support one of our Army customers. This candidate will work closely with a cross-functional agile team to analyze, model, catalog, ingest, and report data as part of a transactional management and reporting system. What you will do
- Analyze and understand data-related business needs. Assist the customer with requirements elicitation and help them translate these requirements into user stories.
- Act as a liaison between the customer and technical team regarding data-related requirements.
- Serve as a data Subject Matter Expert for the technical team and help them to resolve ambiguity and discrepancies in requirements.
- Provide quality assurance for imported data, working with the quality assurance team, if necessary.
- Assist the technical team with data modeling, data cataloging, and data ingestion.
- Assist with the generation and management of data-related artifacts and deliverables.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure efficient product development.
- Utilize product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and M365 to accomplish daily tasks.
- Develop database scripts, such as DDL, DML, stored procedures, etc., as needed.
What you need to have
- Clearance: Active Secret
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional work experience
- Ability to be on-site 40-60% of the time at a client location in Washington D.C., as required
- Experience gathering and elaborating requirements from high-level user stories down to detailed technical specifications.
- Familiarity with a relational database management system (RDMS), like Postgres, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Excel, SQL, or scripting languages.
- A general understanding of popular backend and frontend technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with Confluence and Jira.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Experience with shifting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Experience working as part of an Agile team in an Agile software development environment using Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Familiarity with supporting DB application / script deployments in a CI/CD environment.
What we'd like you to have
- Experience working with Army data.
- Experience with data collection services in AWS, like Glue, Kinesis, DMS.
- Experience or knowledge of non-data related AWS Services, such as compute services.
