Description
Assists in leading the front-end production crew under the direction of the manufacturing supervisor, while also filling in as needed as a floor operator. Primary Duties: Oversees metal, fabric cutting, and assembly teams to ensure efficient and proper flow of materials. Assists production supervisor in material movement from warehouse to fabric cutting. Could include a variety of transactions including generating pick sheets, bin transfers, etc... Trains and assists new and current employees in metal, assembly, and fabric cutting processes. Serves as a backup in various areas to the manufacturing supervisor. Practices 6 S to ensure a clean and organized workspace. Supports ISO standards. Supports and maintains inventory accuracy through the cycle count program. Works closely with warehouse team to ensure quick, accurate, and efficient movement of materials to and from production. Provides support where needed in all metal, fabric, and warehouse roles. Including but not limited to metal cutting, fabric cutting, container unloads, material put away and discarding of materials. Gives direction to the team daily, based on supervisor's communication. Continuously looks for ways to eliminate scrap and improve processes. Serves as a backup for the manufacturing supervisor in daily processes such as production planning, printing work orders, etc. Key Responsibilities: Ability to demonstrate the following: Maintains a positive and professional attitude, which supports a creative and productive workplace. Effectively communicates with direct supervisor and other members of the team in a professional and clear manner. Effectively makes decisions on the floor based on knowledge and experience. Communicates with supervisor in a consistent and clear manner to address any areas of concern in production. Including but not limited to machine maintenance, safety, staffing, quality, and capacity constraints. Understands production scheduling and can assist as needed. Strong understanding of Netsuite and WSS. Strong understanding of inventory control and ability to complete transactions as needed in NetSuite.
