Job Description Summary

Support Sunbelt's Environmental Compliance and Sustainability objectives, providing assistance to the Senior Manager, Environmental Compliance and other environmental staff as needed. Emphasis on document organization, data acquisition, permit filings and associated payments, environmental research, and regulatory support services.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage environmental files and computer databases to support Sunbelt field locations.

  • Monitor and manage incoming communication and requests from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Track and manage environmental compliance related deadlines utilizing commercial software (including Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act - EPCRA; and California Environmental Reporting System - CERS).

  • Research and interpret Federal, State, and Local environmental requirements pertinent to Sunbelt facilities and maintain database/checklist of compliance topics.

  • Access and utilize state and federal online databases (EPCRA, CERS, various permitting databases) to retrieve and manage essential compliance information.

  • Provide as needed administrative support for permitting, registration, invoices, and other compliance related documentation.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally in conducting internal surveys of Sunbelt field locations regarding environmental compliance matters.

  • Prepare and deliver written and verbal status reports to management regarding compliance initiatives.

  • Oversee and coordinate fuel spill remediation efforts ensuring swift response and adherence to environmental protocols.

  • Manage agency coordination with Local and State regulators to facilitate compliance during fuel spill remediation efforts, where applicable.

  • Support development of training and educational resources for Sunbelt Rentals' team members.

  • Provide support to internal waste management program as needed

Requirements: Education & Experience:
  • High School degree. 2 or 4 year degree preferred.

  • 3+ plus years of experience in an analytical, compliance or advanced level administrative position. Familiarity with environmental terminology and experience in environmental and compliance and regulatory matters a definite plus. Interest in Sustainability and environmental topics.

  • Detail Oriented and self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to work autonomously or collaboratively as needed.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize highest value work.

  • Ability to learn existing procedures to meet department objectives and assist with development of new procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to learn data input processes for environmental software.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt's safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $85,113.00 - 117,030.10

Sunbelt also provides a comprehensive benefits package to its full-time employees. You will become eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days from your start date. Sunbelt offers team members the following time off from work, subject to Sunbelt's policies: twelve to twenty-five vacation days depending on years of service; five sick days; six paid holidays, two paid half day holidays, two floating holidays, one inclusion day, and one volunteer day (unless specified in a collective bargaining agreement).
