TikTok Intern

The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) is seeking a creative and energetic TikTok for the summer of 2025. As the TikTok intern, you will collaborate with the museum's marketing team to develop and produce TikTok videos that heighten engagement and increase awareness of the museum, its programs, exhibitions and people.

Responsibilities:




  • Develop, produce, and edit TikTok videos that explore the museum's art and collections, events, and stories.



  • Identify and engage key social media influencers for takeovers, special features, and other collaborations



  • Collaborate with multiple teams, including education, marketing, curatorial and visitor engagement, to brainstorm, plan and implement TikTok videos that align with the museum's mission and strategic goals.



  • Research and stay up-to-date with TikTok trends and best practices to create impactful and engaging content.



  • Attend museum events and programs to capture behind-the-scenes moments and artist interviews.




Requirements:




  • A portfolio of TikTok videos showcasing creativity, storytelling, and production skills.



  • A passion for art and culture, and a desire to share it with a broad audience on social media.



  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with museum staff and visitors.



  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently as well




The summer internship program will run from June 12 to August 25, 2025, or an agreed-upon end date with the hiring manager. There will be a mandatory in-person orientation on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Interns are also required to participate in our professional development sessions on the following Thursdays. Times are subject to change, and some sessions may be hybrid.




  • June 26 (10 AM to 1 PM). In person only.



  • July 10, 17, 24, and 31 (10 AM to 12 PM)



  • August 7 (10 AM to 12 PM)



  • August 14 (12 PM to 2 PM). In person only.




This internship provides a $2,000 stipend and requires the completion of 180 hours, which includes the professional development programs and translates to approximately 18 hours per week, onsite.
