Emergency Management Training/Resources Coordinator

The Emergency Management (EM) Training and Resource Coordinator manages and provides education and hands-on training related to emergency preparedness for the Carle BroMenn, Carle Eureka and off-stie clinical facilities within the region. This position works closely with other departments (Security, Facilities, Safety Specialist) to schedule needed training and disaster exercises. The EM Training and Resource Coordinator is also responsible for the maintenance, rotation, and upkeep of disaster supplies and equipment located on the campus and throughout the region and will provide disaster drills to Carle departments or facilities as assigned by the director. The EM Coordinator will be responsible for other duties as assigned by the EM Director.

License/Certifications:

• National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 100 within 6 Months
• National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 200 within 6 Months
• National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 700 within 6 Months
• National Incident Mgmt System (NIMS) 800 within 6 Months
• Completion of Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program/HSEEP within 1 Year

Education:

• Two (2) years Related Field

Other Knowledge/Skills:

Teaching experience. Disaster exercise design and application. National Incident Management System (NIMS) course completion or experience in Incident Command, basic knowledge of medical equipment, portable hand-held radios.

• Provides training and testing to the Carle organization (both in-patient and ambulatory sites) on emergency response, mitigation, and recovery from disasters.
• Assists in ensuring Carle staff and facility meets DNV emergency management standards. Ensurance is accomplished through providing education and training, developing and assessing disaster exercises, and participating in weekly safety rounds at Carle patient care facilities.
• Responsible for Emergency Operations Planning and DNV EM requirements at all off-site facilities within the Carle organization.
• Acts as the Rave Emergency Notification Administrator for the Carle organization.
• Represents Carle and the Emergency Management department in local, regional, and state emergency management preparedness planning and coalition development.
• Provides training to Carle employees on disaster response.
• Develops disaster exercise scenarios.
• Tests Carle staff knowledge of disaster response through disaster drills.
