Position Purpose: This position is responsible for the administration and management of a comprehensive safety management system for wind & solar projects. The Safety & Health Representative will work closely with the Safety & Health Department, Project Managers, Project Superintendents, and craft personnel to promote and ensure safe work practice and conditions. Essential Responsibilities * Assists with new hire general safety orientation. * Coordinates, conducts and documents safety meetings and on-site safety assessments. * Assists management in preparing safety policies and procedures; provides support in implementing these policies and procedures. * Ensures that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed. * Works with the Safety Department and ensures that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met. * Provides safety technical support and education for supervisors and employees. Provides feedback to encourage learning. * Promotes proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions. * Monitors safety compliance, creating awareness and set priorities that focus on continuous safety improvement. * Assists and documents incident investigations to include a detailed RCA, sharing of lessons learned, communicating next steps and tracking associated action items. * Nationwide travel is required. Knowledge | Skills | Abilities * Working knowledge of 29 CFR OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations. * Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. * Proven communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management preferred, or related field equivalent experience will be considered. * 1-3 years of construction safety experience preferred. Work Environment * Must be able to remain standing approximately 50% of the time. * Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, climbing. * The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. * Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. * Occasionally lifting 40 pounds. |
