Summary
The Head of Global Logistics, reporting to the Senior Director, Global Procurement and Logistics, is a newly created role within Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence (MI) Division, designed to optimize logistics operations across global manufacturing sites and strengthen collaboration with other Hexagon divisions. This role is essential to leading change, standardizing logistics strategies, and improving cost efficiency while balancing regional variations in preferred shipping methods.
While this position does not include direct reports, it will involve functional leadership and collaboration with regional teams to implement logistics strategies effectively.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee logistics activities across MI's 14 global manufacturing sites (including China, US, and Europe) to drive operational excellence.
- Lead logistics transformation initiatives, leveraging division-wide spending strategies and centralizing freight management while maintaining regional flexibility.
- Ensure cost-effective and strategic investments.
- Optimize and integrate logistics technology platforms to enhance visibility, efficiency, and performance across global operations.
- Establish and track key KPIs to measure success in logistics transformation and operational improvements.
- Align logistics processes across US, EMEA, and China, ensuring compliance with ESG and quality standards while enhancing cross-divisional collaboration.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to align logistics with business objectives and support ongoing growth initiatives.
- Manage travel requirements, ranging from 20-40% worldwide, as needed to oversee logistics operations and implement strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or engineering. A master's degree or certifications (APICS, CSCMP) are preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, ideally within a multinational industrial environment handling low-volume, high-value, and complex products.
- Proven track record in process improvement, change management, and project management.
- Experience leading global projects and managing organizational change initiatives.
- Strong understanding of logistics technology platforms, including warehouse management, transportation management, and supply chain analytics tools.
- Ability to develop and execute logistics transformation strategies, aligning with division-wide cost-saving goals and freight centralization efforts.
