Senior Multimodal Project Manager

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Senior Multimodal Project manager in one of the following office locations: Washington, DC; Herndon, VA; Columbia, MD; or Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities include:

• Serves as project manager and/or project engineer on complex projects
• Researches and recommends advances in technical software and other new technology in the field to

improve efficiency

• Provides technical guidance to staff in area of expertise
• Will serve as project manager and lead marketing pursuits, will act as client contact
• Responsible for schedules, work in progress, and timely completion of projects
• Coordinates and approves pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
• Develops engineering agreements for their projects within the department
• Responsible for control of work-in-process
• Assists with contract administration
• Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for projects
• Instructs technicians to convert designs to working drawings
• Visits construction sites to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
• Other duties as assigned

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or similar discipline from an accredited college or university and at least 7 years of experience, of which at least 2 must be at the project manager level; OR no degree with at least 11 years of relevant experience of which at least 2 must be at the project manager level.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• Master's Degree preferred
• Experience managing or developing multimodal traffic engineering projects or programs
• Ability to oversee, direct, train, and provide technical guidance and project management for on-going multimodal traffic engineering projects
• Current, active relationships with local, regional, and national clients and consultants in the multimodal traffic engineering market
• Ability to develop and deliver high quality marketing and business development materials, including but not limited to proposals, presentations, brochures, cut sheets, etc.
• Desire to market new clients and services within traffic and transportation engineering and cross-sell, as appropriate, in other business lines
• Current Professional Engineering licensure or ability to obtain licensure within 2 years
• PTOE certification or ability to obtain certification within 3 years
• RSP certification or ability to obtain certification within 1 year
