- Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll components.
- Verify and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Support financial and operational audits by providing necessary payroll data and documentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in payroll operations.
Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
Assist in preparing and filing payroll tax reports and payments accurately and on time.
- Review of compliance issues, manager, and complete compliance task; review inquiries and make determinations as to corrective actions.
- Financial monitoring and reporting; coordinate information for budget management; coordinate data gathering for audits; oversight of payments.
- Payroll communication, evaluation, creation, review, and delivery
- Communicating actuals, trends, & variances of payroll reporting data to payroll managers & leadership
- Compile Ad Hoc Reports from payroll database & provide recommendations of findings.
- Administer GEODIS payroll by ensuring all new hires, terminations, & status changes are updated in Ceridian and or HR system.
- Assist with payroll integration for newly hired employees into our system for Share Services
- Develop custom reports to meet the requirements of payroll.
- Solve employees' toughest issues end-to-end with respect to all payrolls pay and deductions.
- Rotational training on the entire life cycle: from elections, through payroll deductions, HR systems and transactions
- Solve & correct complex problems, without guidance by improving processes and functions.
What you need:
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Experience with Kronos and Ceridian preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local Tax
- Understanding of payroll concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of Federal and State payroll regulations
- Ability to read and interpret financial documents and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak and present data findings before groups or employees of an organization.
- Ability to identify key indicators and deal with complex problems involving several concrete variables.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast pace and high-demanding environment
