Machine Operator - Lapping Inspection

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is now accepting applications for a full-time Machine Operator to work in the Lapping Inspection department at our Carbide facility. If you enjoy working with your hands, attention to detail and taking pride in doing a job well, then we encourage you to apply. This is an excellent ENTRY LEVEL position assisting in the manufacturing process and provides an opportunity to advance and grow within our employee-owned company. This position is primarily daylight; however, candidates can be required to work occasional afternoon or midnight shifts if the work load requires.

Responsibilities:



  • Prioritize, plan and prepare work. Analyze tasks and establish appropriate sequence of operations
  • Perform laser etching and visual inspection of parts
  • Use a speed lathe to break edges/notches on sintered carbide components
  • Clean carbide components, mindful of careful part handling
  • Deliver parts to the next work station
  • May assist with parts on the precision lapping tables



Qualifications

Qualifications:



  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have math & mechanical skills/aptitude
  • Must have the ability & desire to do precision work
  • Able to work well independently and cooperatively with teams
  • Previous experience lathes, mills or grinders is a plus, but not required
  • Previous experience with blueprint reading and measurement tools such as calipers & micrometers is preferred
  • Candidates must have good visual acuity (with corrective lens), stand 8-10 hours per day, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Able to work daylight with availability for afternoon or midnight shift when needed.
