POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for monthly and quarterly financial reporting, managing annual and statutory audits and in assisting auditors/advisors in evaluating new accounting rules as they arise to help ensure accounting activities are U.S. GAAP compliant. This position will assist in improving existing systems or developing new ones to support the Company's policies and procedures for effectively managing transactional financial matters. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure financial systems and related internal controls are accurate, efficient and used in accordance with professional accounting practices and government regulations. * Assist with performing financial reporting for consolidated Meso Scale Diagnostics, numerous limited liability companies and C corporations, both domestic and international, and non-consolidated legal entities. * Support technical aspects of monthly accounting close and financial reporting process. * Participate in the financial reporting evaluation of non-routine transactions. * Lead the monthly cash flow reporting process. * Review general ledger account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, and assist in recording any necessary adjusting entries. * Keep abreast of changes to accounting pronouncements and evaluate to determine the applicability to the organization and the U.S. GAAP financial statements. * Draft detailed updates of internal accounting policies to meet external and internal requirements. * Provide a leading role during the year-end close and audit. * Collaborate with finance team members for accounting issues and audit requests. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting from accredited US institution. * Minimum of four years of accounting experience. * Active CPA license preferred. * Prior Big 4 CPA firm experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Detailed knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including accounting for revenue, leases, statements of cash flows and intercompany transactions. * Understanding of government accounting standards a plus. * Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as the ability to handle complex situations and demonstrate sound judgment and problem solving. * A professional presence and strong interpersonal skills for interacting in a courteous, timely, and diplomatic manner. * Demonstrated propensity to be creative, collaborative, proactive, and self-motivated in the execution and completion of assigned accountabilities. * Proficient in Microsoft office. * Ability to work independently, as an effective team member and with all levels of the company. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the individual is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The individual is occasionally required to walk, use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is performed in a traditional office environment with hybrid schedule possible. COMPENSATION SUMMARY The annual base salary for this position ranges from $98,800. to $150,700. This salary range represents a general guideline as MSD considers other factors when presenting an offer of employment, such as scope and responsibilities of the position, external market factors, and the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, education and experience. Employees may qualify for a discretionary or non-discretionary bonus in addition to their base salary. These annual bonuses are intended to recognize individual performance and enable employees to benefit from the Company's overall success.
