Lemay/PCR in Frederickson - a Waste Connections Company is hiring a Local CDL Driver! Enjoy dedicated local routes, giving you a consistent schedule and better work-life balance. Experience in the waste industry is a plus!

PAY AND SCHEDULE:

  • Competitive wages starting at $35.00 - $35.50 per hour.
  • The typical schedule is a 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and Saturdays as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operate a garbage truck on assigned routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.
  • Read and follow route sheets to service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Physically demanding work, including loading and unloading waste, sometimes without assistance.
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose trash at designated facilities.
  • Interact courteously with customers and perform other related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity - requires lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
  • The work environment includes exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet/humid conditions, fumes, and vibration. Noise levels are generally moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement is required.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience directly related to the duties listed.
  • Basic knowledge of truck components to conduct pre-and post-trip inspections.
