Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Developer with 5 to 7 years of experience in Python3 to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model contributing to the development of innovative solutions that drive our company's success. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our projects and the broader community.

Scope of Work:

Develop and maintain Python-based applications on EDGE platforms and microservices.

Design and implement efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.

Modernize existing legacy applications based on Excel.

Create and optimize database interactions using SQL and Postgres.

Develop and maintain Python libraries.

Build RESTful APIs using frameworks like Flask or Django REST Framework.

Develop data processing pipelines.

Integrate third-party services and APIs.

Optimize application performance and database queries.

Implement security best practices.

Create and maintain technical documentation.

Implement robust error handling and logging mechanisms.

Write comprehensive unit and integration tests.

Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers.

Develop test plans and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solutions.

Skills / Experience Required:

Basic understanding of building science, energy, embodied carbon calculations, and carbon neutrality strategies for buildings.

Adherence to standards for timely and quality delivery of artifacts.

Minimum 5-7 years of professional Python development experience.

Expertise in Python 3.8+.

Strong knowledge of:

SQL, Postgres DB, stored procedures, and functions.

FASTAPI.

Python libraries like importlib and pydantic.

Caching.

Creating utilities in Python code.

Excel.

Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

Proficiency in version control.

Compensation: - $90,000 to $130,000 +/- and this position are also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans. Application will be accepted till 03/12/2025
