DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Data Intern, you will support the Division of Environmental Health Epidemiology with data analysis, data visualization, and outreach activities for the Pennsylvania Environmental Public Health Tracking program. This position will focus on data management and analysis, providing valuable hands-on experience in key data processes. Your duties will include accurately gathering and maintaining data while conducting analysis using statistical software to identify trends and patterns in large datasets. In this position, you will also be responsible for supporting the creation of dashboards, graphs, and reports using data visualization software. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to assist in writing academic manuscripts, conducting literature reviews, and supporting other ongoing dissemination efforts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time internship starting in spring 2025. The internship is planned to last 3 months with possibility of extension.
  • You will work 15 to 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirements:
  • Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree program or higher.
  • Good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
  • Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
