Eligible candidates are hired into a Full time Nurse Manager position. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Maine Medical Center Biddeford is looking for a Nurse Manager that is driven and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

What we're looking for:

Strong leadership - able to make decisions, problem solve and collaborate effectively

Exceptional communication skills

Ability to lead a team, establish creative and safe staffing management and encourage professional growth of staff

Leadership and acute care experience is required

Medical / Surgical Cardiac Unit (MS4):

A 45 Bed / 32 Telemetry - Medical / Surgical unit with a concentration of post-cardiac procedure and cardiac patients. This department is on a self-scheduling model, with normal shifts 12 hours in duration

Summary:
The Nurse Manager has 24-hour accountability for the provision of nursing services on their unit. S/he is responsible for maintaining systems and procedures that will ensure quality patient care, promote cost effectiveness, educate and support competent nursing practice. The Nurse Manager skills entail coaching, motivating and leading a professional team to provide safe and effective care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):


  1. Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing desired. Masters in Nursing preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current registered nurse licensure by the Maine State Board of Nursing. Certification in Nursing leadership is desired.
  3. Experience: Minimum of three years' knowledge and experience in Management preferred.
  4. Strong customer service and communication skills required.
  5. Extensive interaction with physicians, intra- and interdepartmental staff members, patient and family members, office staff and professional organizations outside the hospital setting.
  6. Visual and mental concentration required for updating policies and practices, performance reviews and coordinating scheduling needs.
