Cooler Case Dock Operator

Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Cooler Case Dock Operator will ensure the End of the Day (EOD) of the whole sales routes, validating information on dumps, damaged product, and returns of empty cases from all sales routes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Driving Company Performance

  • Responsible for ensuring the End of the Day (EOD) of all the whole sales routes, using the paperwork and device assigned to this process.
  • Responsible for guaranteeing space in the new case dock for receiving empty cases from the routes and other materials such as dollies and bossies.
  • Reception and accounting of empty cases returned daily through sales routes.
  • Receive and send to the final disposal area the dump from the different routes and the operation of the cooler.
  • Receive and validate with the supervisor the final disposition of the returns of the different routes as appropriate.
  • Complete all applicable paperwork in a concise, legible and accurate format and ensure that documentation adheres to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements.
  • Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Follow all required work safe practices, including lockout-tagout requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

Preferred

Work Experience

Minimum of 6 months current experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience in food and beverage industry preferred.

Education

High School diploma or Equivalent or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training.

Technical Knowledge

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork.
  • Basic Math skills
  • Follow and comply with all safety standards.

Additional Skills/Notes

  • Work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adherence to safety requirements and wearing required PPE.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Able to multi-task and be organized.
  • Pass all pre-employment screens, including drug, background and criminal checks

This position operates in a fast-paced and wet environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees may experience swings in work-related demands in this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend. The employee must frequently lift, push, pull, and stack products up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The position often requires standing and walking the majority of the shift. Able to stand and sit upright to operate material handling equipment. The employee frequently work in a wet environment throughout the day. May at times be exposed to cleaning chemicals, employees are required to wear assigned PPE in compliance with OSHA regulations.
