Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position. Responsibilities: Design and develop complex requirements to accomplish business goals Ensure that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements Ensure solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements Participate and guide team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas Code solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, and business) in design and development of client requirements Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work Design/develop/modify architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained Design/develop/maintain automated test suites (integration, regression, performance) Set up and develop a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline Automate manual release activities Mentor other Software Engineers and coach team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack Requirements: Possess a strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns Experience working within software development Technical Coding skills (preferably python but other languages are acceptable) Experience with distributed systems Financial experience (preferably Counterparty Credit Risk or similar risk or pricing experience) Experience with object oriented (no-SQL) databases Functional programming experience Knowledge of test-driven development and agile work practices Experience of Big Data Knowledge of Financial Markets and Products Pay Range: $58.26 - $66.26 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
