Aerospace PS2 - NAS410 Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector (Magnetic Particle & Liquid Penetrant) - 3rd Shift
Hytek Finishes offers an exciting opportunity working with aerospace parts! As an NDT Inspector, you will ensure that critical parts on the aircraft are flight worthy. We have an onsite Responsible NDT Level III inspector who will be training you to achieve your Level II Inspection certifications in-house, and ultimately, can partner with you to create a training plan to eventually become the next Level III NDT Inspector if desired! Job Overview Title: Process Support 2, NAS410 Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) MT and PT Inspector Reports to: Value Stream Manager Location: Kent, WA Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly) Schedule: 3rd Shift; Training on 1st shift for 90 days Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Job Summary This is an Inspector trainee position in our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) department. Employees in this position will become a certified for Hytek Finishes as an NDT Inspector. The individual in this role will be considered an Inspector Trainee until certified by the Level III NDT Responsible in each of the three areas of NDT Inspection performed at Hytek (Magnetic Particle, Florescent Penetrant, and Nital Etch Inspection) and are able to perform the work independently. Essential Mental/Physical Demands
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment is required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, and gloves (provided by Company). Salary Range for position: $16.66 - $45.00 per hour. *Must be able to show proof of NAS410 Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant certifications, including on-the-job training hours, and provide details as to the type of magnetic particle worked with, industry (aircraft parts specific), and type of penetrant (A, B, C, D), all of the above will determine hourly rate within the $24.00 per hr. to $45.00 per hr. range. $1.00 per hour additional will be provided for 3rd shift differential pay.
