Description The Vehicle Integration Systems Engineer is responsible for the elicitation and management of requirements, designing system architecture, and defining and executing system testing through collaboration with the cross-discipline team. Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers. Leads requirements elicitation from both external and internal stakeholders. Translates stakeholder and system requirements into embedded software requirements as needed. Works with development team to facilitate requirements reviews and incorporate feedback. Manages requirements baselines and performs assessments of internal and external scope changes. Supports development of test cases for module level and vehicle level testing. Leads system integration to ensure software, firmware, mechanical, and electrical, and external requirements are met. Aligns organizational goals with technical vision, working with engineers and team leaders to develop technical strategies to solve problems and deliver products to market. Identifies all interfaces during the product development life cycle to assess impact of decisions, ensuring stakeholders are unified. Works with the cross-discipline team to perform technical feasibility studies and risk assessments. Supports all necessary regulatory requirements, analysis, and certification. Establishes and maintains a cross-discipline test and validation plan and guides the test team through proper execution of plan to ensure system meets requirements. Ensures fault-free system operation when all components are working together. Supports and facilitates internal DFMEA and DVP&R processes. Creates and maintains system and embedded software technical specification documentation. 10+ year's experience in Systems Engineering/Architecture. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered. Strong understanding of relevant technologies, industry trends and regulatory requirements. Proficient in Waterfall, Agile and hybrid methodology processes and principles. Strong understanding of the software development life cycle. Strong understanding of embedded systems. Mastery over the interdependency and complexity of system components across multiple disciplines. Excellent communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with people. Proficiency of the basic Microsoft software packages including Word and Excel. Experience working with Jira. Experience with vehicle communication including LIN, CAN, and J1939. Experience with CAN network tools preferred. Able to lift up to 35 lbs. Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift. Must be able to handle and work with small parts. Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment Fast-paced, team-oriented environment Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required Mostly normal business hours with occasional need to flex hours |
