Position Summary |
The Donor Engagement & Giving Manager assists the director in managing and implementing a comprehensive donor program for
USF. The position will manage a stewardship plan that fosters affinity, advocacy and active financial support for the university. This position is responsible for donor research, data mining and management, endowed scholarship program, advancement events and communications, and supports the Advancement division efforts to help expand contributions and advance philanthropy to
USF.
COLLABORATIVE NATURE OF POSITION
The success of philanthropy relies heavily on the effective, university and community collaboration including the Alumni Association Board of Directors, administration, students, parents, faculty, alumni in general, and community entities to access the needs and outcomes of the University. The Donor Engagement & Giving Manager will instill a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization and in the community with a broad base of meaningful engagement opportunities to encourage constituencies to invest in and support the University. |
Essential Duties & Responsibilities |
- Create and execute donor stewardship and acknowledgment plans, using print and digital channels to nurture ongoing affinity and giving to the university through targeted communications; create personalized reports for highest-level donors.
- Research prospective, current, and lapsed donors, determining capacity and opportunity to engage with philanthropic partners on advancement programs and initiatives.
- Manage and qualify donor discovery pools using Banner to code solicitors, add contacts, and maintain constituent database integrity.
- Assist Scholarship Manager with the endowed scholarship program; create reports for donors and maintain scholarship database
- Support donor engagement events and programs including but not limited to Breakfast with the Bunny, Homecoming & Reunion, Breakfast with Santa, and Christmas at the Motherhouse; create marketing, order food, reservations, follow up, etc.
- Assist with management of the Student Alumni Mentoring (SAM) program, creating monthly program guides, resolving issues that arise between mentors and mentees, planning and executing the induction ceremony, etc.
- Assist with management of Alumni Association ensuring a strong connection between its members and the university; including board meetings, committee meetings, etc.
- Assist with advancement budgets; process purchase orders, reconcile receipts.
- Assist in supervision of University Advancement student workers and serve as project manager for division projects assigned to students.
- Manage advancement communications via social media, direct mail including Engaging Mind & Spirit magazine, e-mail via Constant Contact, phone calls/texts, internal television, and update web pages as needed.
- Serve as main point of contact for all incoming calls, submit IT requests, work orders, and additional support as needed in support of the Advancement division.
- Support strategic plan.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements |
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant/related field.
- Minimum one to three years of related experience.
- Ability to work evening and weekends as needed.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong marketing skills and experience.
- Highly organized, strategic, and creative.
- Mastery of standard technology programs (e.g. Microsoft Office).
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.

Preferred Requirements |
- Master's degree in a relevant/related field.
- Three to five years of experience in university advancement.
- University of St. Francis alumnus/a.
- Experience in external relations in higher education.
- Proficiency in Banner software system.

Hours/Shift/Work Schedule |
This is an exempt position, and the expectation is that the job will be performed to completion, typically within normal business hours. Some evening and weekend hours and travel required. |
Physical Requirements of Position |
Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: sitting, walking, bending, stooping, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Some travel is required. |
