As a Convention Porter, you will be responsible for setting, striking, maintaining and cleaning any meeting and event spaces. You will also set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us. THE STARTING RATE:$20.7167 THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Set banquet rooms as per diagrams and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure it is set-up correctly prior to event start time Inspect rooms to make sure rooms are clean before and after function Place signs and refresh meeting rooms Clean and dismantle room set-ups Keep storage areas in proper order Gather all equipment needed for designated set up
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms Can handle multiple tasks at once Able to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines Can lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds Experience using manual or electric equipment, such as flatbed carts, electric pallet jacks and forklifts Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
