Position Highlights	University Facility Services is seeking to fill multiple Carpenter II positions. This role involves constructing, repairing, restoring, and installing structural woodwork and related materials. Follows the University design standards, policies and procedures in a professional manner while ensuring quality workmanship, maintain a clean and safe environment and positive customer relations. Duties & Responsibilities	Constructs, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, steel stud walls, drywall, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs. Operates and performs preventative maintenance on hand and power saws, planers, lathes, joiners, shapers, drills, sanders and a variety of hand tools. Installs locks, knobs, hinges, closures, and other fixtures to structures. Cleans equipment, shop area, and work site area. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the commercial carpentry trade. Ability to communicate effectively. Excellent customer service skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Minimum Qualifications	High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required. In addition to the education and experience minimum qualifications, Apprenticeship program, technical training experience required. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications	Experience in estimating time and material requirements of work projects assigned. Experience in commercial cabinet and casework fabrication and installation. Experience with computer data entry and software such as MS Word, Outlook, Excel. Experience in hanging drywall, tape and texture. Experience in Acoustical ceiling grid installation and ceiling tile.
