JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Estimator oversees the design and cost estimation during the bidding phases, while collaborating closely with the general contractor, design team, and ILB executive team, including our vendors and subcontractors.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • A working knowledge of operations and estimating practices at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience; and
  • Four years' experience in estimating, cost control and/or engineering experience in construction management.


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel, Accubid Estimating Software, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills are essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating, cost control and system design, plus the ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Must have safe driving record and a valid driver's license according to legal requirements.
  • Experience in construction management with a commercial and/or industrial focus.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Leadership experience in a field environment.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Review and incorporate historical data from past performance, project experience, purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man hour figures.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
  • Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to bid/project as assigned.
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimates and figures.
  • Interface with owner, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  • Develop relationships with the general contractors, owners and other design team members including our vendors and subcontractors.
  • Follow awarded contracts as assigned - may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.
  • Assist the operations team with turnover meetings and internal budgeting.
  • This position is required to drive.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS


  • Salary range: $125,000 - $165,000 annually.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k with company match.
  • Vacation and sick leave.
