Job Summary

The UCD C Street Infusion Pharmacy provides infusion medications for oncology and other patients who require infusion medications in an ambulatory setting.

The Pharmacy Supervisor provides management over Pharmacy Infusion Services at the UC Davis, C Street Infusion Pharmacy. Other responsibilities include serving as the Pharmacist-In-Charge for the UCD C Street Infusion Pharmacy with the California Board of Pharmacy as well ongoing CQI with the UCD C Street Infusion Center and Department of Pharmacy Sterile Compounding services.

The Infusion Pharmacy Supervisor also participates in clinical and operational assignments. Their responsibility is to provide delivery of optimal drug therapy. This includes appropriate drug selection, administration, dosing, and computer order processing. Pharmacists also monitor drug therapy to achieve desired outcomes and avoid drug toxicity.

The Pharmacist Supervisor works as an integral part of the patient care team and assists physicians and nurses in providing drug therapy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed registered Pharmacist in the State of California (Out of State Pharmacist Eligible to Apply)
  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital, infusion or similar clinical setting
  • CPOE experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) or Board Certified Compounded Sterile Preparations Pharmacy Specialty (BCSCP)
  • PGY2 Oncology or PGY2 HSPAL residency
  • MBA/MHA/MHA
  • Previous supervisory/managerial experience
  • Previous, recent (within 2 years) experience with sterile compounding, handling hazardous drugs, USP797/800
  • Previous EPIC/BEACON experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Department Specific Job Scope

The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care.

We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.

The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.

Work Environment
