Job Objective:
Facilitates compliance in a variety of environmental disciplines and media by implementing environmental reporting, training, and recordkeeping. Performs EHS-related administrative and permitting duties.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Administers and maintains environmental permits
- Evaluates environmental permit compliance status
- Prepares new or improved methodologies for compliance
- Strategically prepares environmental permit applications independently, including evaluating equipment and control options, limits on operations or throughput, and stack parameters. Works with operations to complete applications that are fit-for-purpose
- Negotiates permit terms with relevant agencies
- Prepares compliance reports, including but not limited to emissions inventories, greenhouse gas reports, deviation reports, compliance certifications, remediation reports, Tier II reports, and waste generation reports
- Creates and implements new or improved measures for permit compliance and reporting
- Conducts site environmental compliance assessments at gas processing plants, storage sites, and compressor stations
- Provides environmental technical support and guidance to operations on new and existing regulations and permit requirements
- Interprets new regulations and identifies options for compliance
- Oversees environmental contractors
- Reviews Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), spill cleanup, and waste handling reports
- Ensures compliance of laboratory testing results
- Creates and supports environmental systems, policies, and procedures
- Represents company in regulatory compliance audits and negotiates with agencies on Notices of Violation
- Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation
- Supports company vision and mission
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.)
- Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Ten (10+) years minimum regulatory and environmental oil and gas experience.
- Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- State and Federal online reporting portals
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college
