What you will do

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an Engineering internship located in Lenexa, KS.. This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

How you will do it

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and compile data on construction industry and building energy and equipment information in the United States
  • Work with Senior engineers to compileand analyze operational and research data to establish and/or evaluate performance standards and limits for new databases
  • Support the development of new software tools to use the data acquired to develop design and pricing information for real world building projects.
  • Support field work activities as necessary to complete data gathering and software testing.
  • Plans and holds meetings when appropriate.
  • Prepares and presents reports and presentations as needed.
  • Interacts and coordinates project activities with internal functions and external partners throughoutdesign process.
  • Performs all elements of the job in accordance with established procedures.

What we look for

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Qualifiedmajors: Engineering, with emphasis on Mechanical, Architectural Engineering, and Electrical Power generation.

Skills

  • Computer proficient; with experience in MS Office, MS Project, CAD (preferablyCREO) or othersoftware basedengineering design tool.
  • Must be familiar with product design and testing.
  • Strong analytical ability to solve programs and ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills to generate process instructions and reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams with minimum guidance.
  • Ability to follow a structured project management process including document meeting minutes, action items, and monitor progress.

Experience

  • Previous internship/co-op experiences with strong engineering and business acumen beneficial(preferable not required)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and proven self starter.
