Job Summary

Supports and oversees the academic processes of College of Arts, Science, and Education (CASE) Dean's office, including but not limited to oversight of CASE's tenure and promotion process, serving as a liaison to the Provost's office and academic affairs, and providing support for CASE faculty committees.

  • Coordinates and provides direct confidential assistance to the Deans on highly administrative matters and has oversight of the academic processes of the Dean's office. Ensures activities comply with policies and procedures. Ensures the strategic achievement of goals as it relates to the Dean's office.
  • Directs and supports processes such as the tenure and promotion process at CASE, by drafting letters, assisting Deans with files and documents, and processing appropriate submission.
  • Complies with policies and procedures of the university and the college as it relates to faculty matters.
  • Drafts and edits academic communications such as letters of recommendation, emails, memos, position descriptions, policies, and evaluations.
  • Serves as an academic liaison to the Office of the Provost, Academic Affairs, Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED), General Counsel, other top University officials, and all Chairs and Directors in CASE.
  • Provides support to CASE faculty committees, including faculty assembly, Council of Chairs and Directors, and all CASE ad hoc committees with items such as report generating, memoranda, correspondence, and documents such as minutes as needed.
  • Compiles data and other pertinent information for the Deans use on various issues as needed. Sets up and organizes filing systems, databases and spreadsheets.
  • Attends all relevant meetings and drafts complete minutes and summaries when needed.
  • Compiles lists and recommendations of potential academic awardees (e.g. faculty, graduate students) through excellent communication with all CASE units, coordinating nomination processes for college and university level awards.
  • Maintains and develops academic-related files and documents including, but not limited to policies, department bylaws, and center and department evaluations.
  • Serves as Panther180 co-liaison for college and assists in the development of departmental processes and Panther180 related trouble shooting
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and six (6) years office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
