Job Summary

Key contributor/point for the development and enhancement of employer partnerships at the state, regional, and national levels across all business academic disciplines Designs and implements a comprehensive network of services for employer engagement and serves as the subject matter expert in employment and internship market trends and disseminates information to internal and external stakeholders as needed Provides career development and job search services to assigned undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. Works with faculty and employers to assist and educate on the career development process and assists students in finding employment.

  • Identify and create appropriate sponsorship opportunities for new and existing employers.
  • Lead consultations with employers to assess needs, suggest recruitment strategies and oversee communication, Builds relationships with faculty to align employer outreach initiatives relevant to academic units.
  • Oversees processes for employer and posting approvals, as well as fraudulent/flagged employers.
  • Serves as liaison to CTD, Hospitality, and other FIU career centers to ensure employer/recruitment communication is seamless between units. Acts as a liaison with the Office of Advancement, Corporate Relations, and Engagement to foster employer/recruitment relationships
  • Attends university-wide meetings, serves on committees, and represents the Office of Business Career Management as needed. Attends and represents FIU at career-related professional events and conferences.
  • Develops and implements program policies and procedures pertaining to employer engagement and student support activities.
  • Creates, distributes, and assesses employer program evaluations and integrates relevant findings into strategic planning.
  • Works with employers to establish and cultivate relationships. Liaises with corporate or government recruiters for internships and permanent opportunities. Maintains close working relationships with employer partners and academic departments.
  • Integrates technology into daily operations, programs, presentations, and services. Provides analytic direction for data collection from various platforms, analyzes and develops data driven reports to implement proactive implementation strategies that improve employment rates and student participation.
  • Conducts research, evaluates career management platforms and makes recommendations to the Director.
  • Acts as a liaison to COB student organizations that provide services to undergraduate students. Plans events to facilitate networking opportunities with employers and build student communication skills and self-confidence Act as a liaison with national professional organizations such as the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) and the National Hispanic MBA Association (Prospanica).
  • Assists assigned undergraduate majors, graduate majors, alumni, and employer partners with internal career database technology (e.g. Handshake, VMock, PathwayU, and LinkedIn). Generates requested reports and tracks students activity and placements.
  • Provides individual advising in-person, by phone, or via e-mail (scheduled and walk-ins) for assigned undergraduate business majors, assigned graduate programs and alumni/ae. Reviews and approves pending resumes, cover letters, and unofficial transcripts in database for assigned undergraduate majors, assigned graduate majors, and/or alumni.
  • Aids with/recruits/coordinates Alumni and external employers participation in alumni/student mentoring program.
  • Assist with the operational, financial, and staff development activities of the Office of Business Career Management.
Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree and four (4) years of managerial experience in career advising and/or project management; OR Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of managerial experience in career advising and/or project management.
