  • Onsite: daily onsite requirement based on the essential functions of the job

This position is hybrid within the state of AZ only. This hybrid work opportunity requires residency, and work to be performed, within the State of Arizona.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Drives the Information Technology (IT) Architecture (Solutions Architecture and Data Architecture) structure and operations, and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy for AZ Blue. Collaborates alongside business leaders/areas to explain our architecture structure and AI initiatives to develop short- and long-term strategies and support project deliverables. Works with, and supports, IT leadership to develop a roadmap that focuses on gaps, future state of architecture and AI, as well as optimization of all processes. The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of the company's overall IT architecture, aligning it with business strategy, and specifically integrating AI capabilities across all systems and processes to drive innovation and business value.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience

  • 10 years of experience designing, building, and supporting large IT enterprise environments
  • 10 years of experience designing and supporting large AI initiatives and strategies with IT or similar areas
  • 5 years of experience designing large-scale infrastructure and/or enterprise level solutions
  • 4 years of experience in AI strategy and management driving change on a large scale
  • 3 years of experiences with AI disciplines, such as machine learning, deep learning, NLP, speech-to-text, computer vision, etc.
  • 3 years of experience in IS/business, programming, engineering and/or application management and/or Infrastructure components such as Storage, Servers, Network and Virtualization and/or Data management, BI and/or Data Warehousing projects.
  • 3 years of project management experience

  • Associate's degree in business, information technology, computer systems, or related field

Preferred Work Experience

  • 5 years of experience in AI solutions and data collection

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure integrity of AI and architect solutions and qualified state during their lifetime; conduct product evaluations and tradeoffs.
  • Work with Information Security Services and Corporate Integrity to design with system and application security in mind.
  • Harness cutting-edge AI methodologies, including computer vision and Gen AI / advanced Natural Language Processing, to deliver tangible improvements in all of architect operations.
  • Establish domain specific standards, near/mid-term strategy, and roadmaps (0-18 months), in adherence to, and in support of Enterprise standards, strategy and roadmaps.
  • Assist in creating the vision for future state technologies and architecture and participate in setting Enterprise standards and mid/long-term strategy/roadmaps (18-60 months).
  • Responsible for domain specific content/collateral, based on the EA standards/ methodologies, to document the current state and future state architecture.
  • Lead the architectural design to ensure AI technology is integrated with current and new technologies to meet the needs and objectives of the business.
  • Lead the design and development of the enterprise architecture blueprint, including application, data, infrastructure, and integration layers, with a focus on AI integration.
  • Establish and enforce standards, guidelines, and best practices for enterprise architecture, including AI development and deployment. Educate and influence others in order to gain buy-in on proposed solutions.
  • Provide input to management throughout the project management lifecycle (PMLC).
  • Facilitate communications between IS workgroups and business stakeholders for technical issues and/or major changes; acting as the technical domain subject matter expert.
  • Provide technical guidance to coach and mentor team members; provide performance feedback to manager(s).
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, including AI advancements, to identify opportunities for modernization and innovation on related technologies and best practices.
  • Cultivate a focus on excellence within AI project teams, promoting a culture of technical rigor and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Partner with other IT leaders to establish and maintain responsible AI principles and standards to promote ethical and secure AI utilization.
  • Strategize and steer business development activities, within the business, to deliver impactful AI-driven solutions.
  • Support both IT and the business with implementing AI models, including migrating AI technologies within current systems.
  • Manage a team of architects, engineers, and specialists responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the enterprise architecture, as well as the associated AI components. Serve as technical owner and IT focal point for related concerns and solutions.

Financial

  • Manage use of corporate funds including budgeting, financial management, and reporting. Identify opportunities to achieve administrative efficiencies while maintaining service.
  • Provide capacity planning, forecasting, and budgeting of equipment, software, service, and license needs to support Information Technology and our Business partners.
  • Review software procurement plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural decisions.
  • Conduct vendor negotiations to contain or reduce contract services expense and/or one time purchase expense
