Summary of Position

This position will be responsible for reviewing and documenting their review procedures over journal entries and reconciliations for various accounting areas during the monthly close process, including revenue, accruals, etc. This position will be working with the Fulgent's independent registered public accounting firm to ensure that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (U.S. GAAP) and SEC Regulations. This role will also participate in monthly reporting, quarterly SEC filings, quarterly reviews, year-end audits, and advising management on complex transactions from an accounting perspective.

This position requires significant interaction with individuals internal and external to the organization, including management, independent auditors, SEC legal counsel, and other service providers. This position requires the ability to research accounting guidance and interpret transactions in a clear and concise manner for multiple audiences.

Key Job Elements



  • Responsible for areas in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing and reporting process and ensure proper classification, completeness, and cut-off.
  • Manage and supervise the accounting staffs for timely and accurate reporting.
  • Review and update process narratives to reflect changes in the process and identify risks within the process and design controls to mitigate risks identified.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to provide clarity on the company's financial closing and reporting processes by performing walkthroughs and providing support for samples selected for testing the operating effectiveness of controls and audits.
  • Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  • Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. and SEC reporting regulations and procedures and documentation are SOX 404b compliance.
  • Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives, policies, and on various transactions across the organization.
  • Provide financial analysis with an emphasis on fluctuations for areas in charge.
  • Research and analyze complex accounting transactions, including those related to revenue recognition, business consolidations, and other financial statement line items. This includes knowledge of researching/applying accounting standards and SEC Regulations and draft the accounting memos.
  • Perform technical and regulatory accounting research and develop alternative approaches as deemed appropriate.
  • Work closely with other functional areas and foster a client-focused environment which supports internal and external customers, including management, other departments, and subsidiaries.
  • Analyze and assist in implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience



  • Bachelor's degree or master's with major in accounting.
  • 6+ years of progressing experience either at a Big Four public accounting firm or a combination of public accounting and public company experience.
  • Experience in technical accounting.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. GAAP and SOX 404b compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft office.
