Responsibilities

Howmet is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resource Generalist Intern to join our HR team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.

Responsibilities:



  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain HR records and assist with compliance documentation.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives.
  • Help coordinate training and development programs.
  • Assist with HR policy updates.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.


Physical Demands / Working Conditions:



  • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards.
  • Travel by car occasionally.
