NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the Manager, Consumer Post Closing. The Consumer Post Closing Coordinator is responsible for reviewing signed consumer, non-home equity loan documents prior to booking, working with other associates as needed to correct any document or signing errors, booking loans, distributing the proceeds checks and pay off letters, placing liens on non-titled collateral, issuing plates for private party purchases, determining action needed and completing any necessary follow-up for incoming mail, mailing valuations for home equity loans that did not close and completing the deferred cost/fees report.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of lending, or financial experience.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, basic typing skills.
3. Proven ability to consistently complete duties within established time frames in a high-volume environment.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
5. Demonstrated success in independent research and issue resolution with the ability to escalate when needed.
6. Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
7. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
8. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Monitors the booking dashboard for loans to be booked and reviews signed consumer, non-home equity, loan documents prior to booking.
2. Books consumer, non-home equity, loans if all documents are properly signed and saved to the loan origination system. Uploads a copy of the check to loan origination system.
3. Works with Personal Financial Officers (PFO), Consumer Loan Specialists and Title Clerks for any missing documents or signatures on titles, registration applications and other documents, when needed.
4. Works with Consumer Loan Document Preparation Coordinators if a document was missed at closing and needs to be created and if any errors were identified that need correction.
5. Works with Consumer Loan Underwriting if there is a problem with decisioning which is preventing a loan to book.
6. Works with Consumer Loan Processing if there was a problem with any stipulations that were not satisfied.
7. Distributes any pay off letters and the applicable checks to appropriate party (member, lease company, another financial, credit card company, etc).
8. Completes Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) to place liens on untitled collateral.
9. Issues plates for private party purchases when needed.
10. Determines and completes any necessary follow up needed for incoming mail for items such as Department of Motor Vehicles documents (DMV), titles, rejected motor vehicle transactions and rejected mortgages.
11. Mails valuations (for applicants who don't have an email) for loans withdrawn, approved but rejected by applicant and declined.
12. Processes deferred costs and fees.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
