Primary Responsibilities |
Determine sequences of paint operations and methods to be used including need or advisability for scaffolding and rigging, color blending and matching required, type and amount of materials needed, and areas to be painted per submitted work orders;
Estimate time frame for completion of job;
Repair and prepare surfaces to be painted, including patching, cleaning, scraping, sanding, priming, etc.
Hand brush, roll & spray paint campus buildings, areas, equipment & furniture, including mixing, blending and matching of paints & stains.
Perform such typical operations as applying decorative and/or protective finish coats to office furniture such as, but not limited to, desks, chairs, cabinets, etc.
Perform related duties as assigned and provides assistance to other trades as needed. |
Qualifications |
High school diploma/
GED with a minimum of 1-year professional related work experience in the commercial or residential field required.
Prefer vocational/technical training in building maintenance with emphasis on surface preparation, painting techniques, caulking and basic light carpentry.
Valid driver's license required.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Must possess the ability to: regularly perform work duties requiring medium heavy to maximum lift & carry weight up to 50 lbs; to climb/work overhead on ladders, scaffolding, catwalks, etc; repetitively bend, stoop, twist, reach, stand, walk, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time; work outside in adverse weather conditions if necessary.
Must be able to work any and all hours necessary to meet the needs of the University and Operations & Maintenance Department.
