POSITION SCOPE

The Asphalt Screed Operator is a safety sensitive position. The Screed Operator must be able to operate an Asphalt Paver Screed according to project specifications. Experience with a CAT 1055 or F model is highly preferred. The individual will be responsible for general service and maintaining equipment daily. The position requires the ability to travel all over AZ.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Operate paving screeds, rollers, pavers, Gannon tractor and front-end loaders to apply asphalt products efficiently to meet job specifications
• Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup
• Strong communication skills to have constant contact with other paving staff, drivers and laborers
• General housekeeping of equipment and plant daily along with general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
• May set up and tear down equipment
• Work outside for long periods of time in all weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
• Individuals must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis
• The use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, etc. to move material will be necessary
• Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by O.S.H.A. and company policy
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver's license and have a clean motor-vehicle record to meet company insurance guidelines
• Willing to work in a team environment
• Willing to travel to different job sites and projects all over AZ is required
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance
