Job Overview

The Business Control Financial Analyst is responsible for improving the financial performance of the business. The position reviews reports and meets with others in the business to share current financial performance and to forecast future financial performance. This position identifies opportunities for improvement (cost savings & revenue growth).

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties




  • Costing materials (annual standard cost setting and new items as needed)..
  • Calculate transfer prices for intercompany sales of inventory (supports tax accounting). Provide prices to Financial control and IT teams who will then load prices into the appropriate systems.
  • Project performance: Business case modeling to help management choose the best investments.
  • Project performance: Ensure capital projects are completed timely and within agreed upon spending budgets.
  • Project performance: Cost saving modeling to help management choose the best cost saving initiatives.
  • Forecasting: Cost center (department) reporting & forecasting.
  • Forecasting: Capital spend, depreciation & amortization reporting & forecasting.
  • Forecasting: Cost of goods sold reporting & forecasting.
  • Inventory (working capital) analysis & forecasting (with goal that inventory is managed at efficient levels).
  • AP (working capital) analysis to identify if unfavorable payment terms are impacting results, follow up with Purchasing team, when needed.
  • Integrated margin (Gross profit) analysis, to understand current performance and opportunities for business improvement, therein.
  • OPEX analysis, to understand current performance and opportunities for business improvement, therein.
  • Engage in meetings to share key information with relevant stakeholders. Work in cross-functional teams to accomplish the above.
  • Business management review preparation for presentation to management.



Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years in Finance and Accounting.
  • Knowledge of accounting and ability to understand drivers of positive financial performance.
  • General knowledge and basic application of business concepts, procedures and practices. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • While some work will be routine, there is a large portion of the work that is project based and will require creative and analytical thinking to complete analyses that benefit the company.
  • Complete daily work to meet established schedule with guidance from supervisor on prioritization of tasks.
  • May exercise authority within pre-established limits and approval. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on the business.
  • Establish and cultivate a network of internal resources to facilitate completion of tasks. Individual influence is typically exerted at the peer level.
  • Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.



The base salary for this position is a minimum of $83,520 and a maximum of $100,000 plus an annual bonus of 10%
