Job Overview

This Clinical Policy Compliance Specialist will work under the direction of the Clinical Policy Oversight Manager, Director of Performance, Practice and Innovation and the CNO to provide direction and support for nursing in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing/clinical/departmental policies and procedures. This Clinical Policy Compliance Specialist will also assist in translating regulatory/accreditation standards for staff. Will have a collaborative relationship with QPS through the Manager of Accreditation and the Chief Quality Officer to ensure resources to develop and implement auditing and observation processes for nursing division, to assess compliance with requirements for regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher of Nursing; Master's degree of Nursing preferred
  • Experience:
    • 5 years clinical experience, pediatric nursing and/or healthcare operations preferred
    • 3 years of experience in nursing related regulatory and policy compliance
  • License/Certification: BLS for Healthcare Providers
    • Advanced Life Support and/or other certification(s) for specific roles may be required within 6 months of hire
  • Membership: Membership in a professional nursing or health care organization

Responsibilities

Population Specific Care

  • No Direct Patient Care
  • Along with the Clinical Policy Oversight Manager is responsible for the Provision of Care chapter in the Joint Commission Hospital Accreditation Standards Handbook.
  • Is responsible for content and process of Clinical Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to: Clinical Policy and Procedure Manual, Nursing Manual, Medication Management Manual, Telephone Triage Guideline Manual, and Standing Orders Manual.
  • The Clinical Policy Compliance Specialist will collaborate with the Department of Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) through the Manager of Accreditation and the Chief Quality Officer to ensure coordination with resources in the division to execute on compliance issues.
  • The Clinical Policy Compliance Specialist will provide Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services with support for creating and managing audit processes to assess compliance with requirements for regulatory agencies and for organizational policies and procedures.
  • The Clinical Policy Compliance Specialist works with the Director of Performance Practice, and Innovations and the Manager of Accreditation to develop and implement auditing and observation processes for nursing division, and to assure effective and accurate reporting of findings from these processes.
  • The scope of the role includes Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services across Children's Hospital Colorado and Network of Care.
  • Translates regulatory/accreditation standards for staff (ANCC Magnet Standards, Joint Commission, CMS, CDPHE).

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $78,659.24 to $117,988.86
Hourly Salary Range: $37.82 to $56.73
