Responsibilities
Building Supervisor Overnight Part-Time Newport News Behavioral Health Center is a 108 bed intensive and highly structured residential treatment for psychiatric and behavioral health needs of adolescent males and females ages 11-18yrs. Newport News has an on-site certified school, therapists, and vocational programming. Newport News, VA is a beautiful seaside city, rich in maritime history and conveniently located to DC and other major North Eastern cities. Position Summary Provides clinical leadership and supervision to direct care staff. Works in association with the DON, CEO and Program Director to ensure consistency in care provided by the residential care staff and the clinical staff. Implements programming and provides ongoing training and supervision to create and maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu. Coordinates and assigns direct care staff to the units facilitates accurate communication among flex pool staff. Assists with daily time and attendance. Benefits Highlights:
Qualifications Qualifications Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, strong oral and written communication skills. Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships as relates to adolescents, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management of aggressive behavior and CPR. An individual must be able to perform each Essential Function of the job satisfactorily. Education/Experience Prefer a Bachelor degree in social work or psychology. Minimum of a high school diploma / G.E.D. A minimum of two years of experience working in a residential facility for children, of which one year must be supervisory. Five years of experience working with children, preferred.
