Are you passionate about changing the world's energy future? If so, we might have just the opportunity you're looking for! In this paid internship, you will contribute to a project on the techno-economics of fission battery mass production. You will analyze the design of a gas-cooled fission battery and its concept of operations, including factory production and testing, transportation to the site, startup and operation at the site, defueling, refueling, spent reactor transportation, and decommissioning. Additionally, you will assist the project team by developing cost models for these steps, running neutronics or shielding calculations, and participating in creative brainstorming. You will report to the digital reactor technology and development group. This team works a 9x80 schedule and operates onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. The start date and duration of the internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university. Qualifications
