Supermicro Computer's Hardware Designing team is looking for an experienced Principal Hardware Design Engineer with extensive board design knowledge to be involved in the design and development of motherboards - which is the core component of our server products. Through closely collaborating, our Hardware Design Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to design high performance and cutting edge motherboards, which build upon the fundamental of our data center products. In addition, the Hardware Design Engineer will provide strong leadership and mentorship to ensure the team will shine under his/her leadership.

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

* Collaborate with Product Manager to optimize product specification, analysis technical and feasibly

* Responsible for schematics capture, layout checking, BOM generating, and debugging and testing of server motherboards / add-on cards / backplane products

* Collaborate with layout engineers, validation engineers, software engineers, firmware engineers, product engineers and other teams to discover and solve any engineering issues in early stage to ensure and enhance the quality of the products

* Prepare technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, test procedures, etc.

* Accomplish the products to conform to engineering specifications, EMC and energy regulations, and customer performance expectations

* Provide the clear documents and strong technical supports to the contract manufacturers and production department during the product sample and production stages

* Support Technical Support Team and Field Application Engineer for ensure quality for entire product life cycle

* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred and Master's degree is strongly desirable

* Minimum 12 year of experience working with PCB design or layout experience is a plus

* In-depth knowledge of circuit design (digital, analog, power) and PCB layout

* Hand-on experience on lab oscilloscopes and debugging skills

* Strong communication, written, oral, and interpersonal skills

* Prior experiences on PCB design in enterprise networking servers is a plus

* Must have the ability to work well with cross functional team effectively

* Excellent organizational skills and problem solving capability

* Self-motivated, team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
