Product Engineer

Seeking a Chassis Product Engineer who can lead and manage Super Micro server chassis product development, review product design and specification, control product schedule, and ensure time-to-market product launch and on-time delivery. This individual will have the capability to work together with cross-functional team to enable and develop application-optimized, competitive server chassis products and drive Super Micro server chassis business.

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

* Develop and manage the product life cycle of server chassis products, including product development phase: product conception, specification, scheduling, prototyping, tooling; as well as mass production phase: product support and maintenance of the entire product life cycle

* Create and present chassis product roadmap and application

* Closely work with engineering teams to review the product specification and design of chassis mechanical, thermal, system architecture to enable competitive, high quality server chassis product

* Coordinate system engineer and production team for system level assembly DFM

* Support hardware board level placement, DXF.

* Failure analysis, and solution evaluation

* Lead cross-functional team to ensure time-to-market product launch and on-time delivery

* Closely work with oversea ODM/CM vendor on server chassis product design and development, design review, BOM review, ERC management, chassis parts tooling fabrication and production ramp-up, set-up, and material pipeline management, etc. to ensure manufacturability, quality and on-time delivery of parts and products

* Work with marketing and sales on new chassis products launch and promotion

* Utilize strong project management and technical leadership to drive Super Micro server chassis products business and promote to worldwide sales and customers

* BS/MS degree in engineering discipline is strongly desirable

* 3+ years of experience in server or IT hardware industry is preferred

* Product development and management experience in server chassis mechanical, thermal, system design, and DFX.

* Strong knowledge of server system architecture, chassis, hardware, and applications

* Experience in manufacturing processes for sheet metal forming, CNC, plastic injection-molding, casting.

* Demonstrated ability to manage from technical details to big picture

* Strong communication skills in speaking, writing, and presenting

* Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team

* Individual must be able to work effectively in a highly paced environment

* Skill: CAD Modeling SW SolidWorks, NX, Creo, AutoCAD, Agile, Windchill. DFM/DFX, DFMEA, Thermal Analysis, CNC Programming. 3D printing.

* Bilingual is a plus

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
