The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and construction work on park facilities, buildings, and related structures to ensure they are safe and in good working condition. This position involves troubleshooting maintenance issues, repairing equipment and structures, performing routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions

- Performs maintenance and repair work on park buildings, restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, and other park structures by troubleshooting issues, performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks, and ensuring all work meets safety standards.
- Conducts routine inspections of park facilities to identify maintenance needs, document findings, and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
- Assists in constructing and installing new park structures and amenities by working with other team members, assembling equipment, and ensuring proper installation.
- Operates and maintains various tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and light machinery, to complete maintenance and repair projects.
- Responds to maintenance requests and emergencies, and promptly assess the situation and perform necessary repairs.
- Ensures that work areas are clean and organized and that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Provides customer service by interacting with park patrons, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive park experience.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of relevant work experience in building maintenance, facility repair, or a related field.
Special Requirements
- Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working with tools and machinery and in potentially hazardous environments.
- Physical strength to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50-100 lbs occasionally.
