Summary of Position

As Director of Sales, you would be responsible for implementing sales strategies as designed by the VP of Commercial Operations, managing, motivating and educating a team of sales professionals regarding Fulgent business ethics and product knowledge. As the Director of Sales, you will craft national and international sales plans specific to your region, and supervise individuals across multiple business units in your region. You will set sales goals and quotas, build sales plans, analyze data, assign sales training and territories, and mentor salespeople.

This role involves a high degree of trend analysis, market monitoring, and result tracking, our Director of Sales must be numbers-oriented with strong math skills and well-developed business senses. The person in this role must be extremely well informed about the markets in which they oversee, and therefore able to accurately forecast sales predictions and shifts in the marketplace.

  • Maintain consistent contact with customers, prospects, other business partners to maintain a seamless flow of new products and sales information.
  • Achieve revenue goals through strategic planning and development of sales professionals and business partner networks.
  • Conduct market analysis, development sales plans, and adjust sales tactics based on business analytics.
  • Responsible for the budget of the assigned team and territory.
  • Maintain a high level of technical and market expertise and educate the market on proper utilization and acceptance of Fulgent products and services.
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the capabilities of the Fulgent technology.
  • Deliver technical presentations, scientific discussions, seminars/webinars and product demonstrations.
  • Acquire market intelligence and feedback, and provide the information to Fulgent's internal teams; update the CRM customer database in a timely manner.
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships with customers, prospects, and business partners.
  • Actively gather content for the marketing team for applications notes, web content and new applications.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience



  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Life Science required.
  • A verifiable track record of sales management spanning at least 5 years that shows competency in meeting sales goals, negotiations, selling to customer needs and staffing (building teams, managing processes, coaching and training).
  • Strong experience working in a laboratory or healthcare environment.
  • Experience in dealing with a range of senior stakeholders.
  • Self-directed with strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrably good at working within multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • CRM competence.
  • Ability to interpret and explain policies, procedures, rules and/or regulations to employees and the public to provide information.
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to establish and maintain cooperative relationships when dealing with the needs, problems, and/or concerns of employees, the public, and/or outside agencies.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
