THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Vice President of Carus' Innovation and Technology Organization, the Field Technical Service Representative will:

  • Serve as the company's subject matter expert on water treatment application issues, industry relevant regulatory changes, and competitive technology landscape in the markets Carus serves.
  • Demonstrate the effectiveness/capabilities/application of Carus products to prospects, current customers, and distributors.
  • Translate customer needs into growth projects using Voice of the Customer information.
  • Demonstrate safe handling of products and best practices amongst customers.
  • Develop scientific data and presentations for product applications in conjunction with the Sales, Business Development and Technical teams.
  • In conjunction with the Sales Team, schedule and conduct successful plant trials, surveys, and on-site lab/plant studies, which include appropriate customer reporting, consultation, and conversion of sales prospects to customers.
  • Support the commercialization of new products with the sales/technical support needed to develop and sell these new products to the marketplace.
  • Provide excellent customer service by collaborating diligently and expeditiously with customer, and customer service daily.
  • Champion a safety-first culture by demonstrating EHSS best practices throughout the organization, facilities, and customer sites. Help the customer understand best safety practices, habits, and behaviors with regard to Carus products.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The right candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with experience in developing, motivating, and transforming teams. Your credentials ideally include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or higher (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Field) is required.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in water treatment is preferred. Experience with wet chemistry lab techniques is required. Experience in permanganate and phosphate applications is a plus.
  • Must be an effective team member with demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, laboratory skills, and mechanical aptitude are a prerequisite.
  • Good listening skills and ability to understand customer's needs
  • Strong analytical and analytical interpretative skills
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Position involves approximately 50%-70% travel and exposure to manufacturing plants, water treatment facilities and normal office environments. May include international travel.
