CAS is currently seeking a Business Analyst on out Content Operations Team. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Job Summary:

As an integral part of the Content Operations team, you will leverage your education and specialized training to curate high-quality research data from patent and journal literatures to build the most current and complete digital environment for scientific insight and discovery, benefitting the whole scientific community. Together we are helping to improve all people's lives through the transforming power of chemistry.

Job Accountabilities:



  • Identifies, evaluates, and selects scientific and technical content to be utilized in database building and/or service activities.
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers to ensure efficiency.
  • Partners with scientific content engineers to input, transform, and enhance content and information.
  • Works with chemistry data related to commerce (regulatory, supply chain, sustainability), evaluating, profiling, analyzing, and supporting transforming and enhancing it for inclusion in CAS products and services.
  • Improves existing processes or designs new processes leveraging Lean Six Sigma principles with efficiency and quality as core drivers.
  • Collaborates effectively in a team environment by considering impacts for people (customers, employees & partners), process, technology, and culture across cross-functional teams.



Qualifications:



  • A Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technological or business-related field. Advanced degree in a scientific or technical discipline and/or MBA is desirable
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification highly desirable.
  • 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Solutions focused, continuous improvement, and growth mindset. Ability to apply Lean Six Sigma concepts, activities, and processes to leading Green Belt and Black Belt projects to reduce cycle times and increase quality.
  • Strong learning agility including ability to quickly learn and apply complex scientific concepts and policies and technology tools. Ability to apply learnings to new situations and glean relevant insights.
  • Excellent scientific/technical comprehension, written, and verbal communication skills to communicate complex scientific and technical concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities both individually and at the initiative level.
  • Ability to proactively collaborate, communicate, and share knowledge with peers with diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong work ethic
